Robots for pool cleaning, window washing, lawn mowing, and house cleaning

      We are already accustomed to robots that vacuum and wash the floors of our homes, but at the presentation by Dreame, robots that wash windows and even pools were showcased!

      The company's presentation became a demonstration of how a manufacturer, known primarily for its household robots for indoor cleaning, aims to transform the concept of "smart space care" into a broader set of autonomous solutions. While the focus used to be on coverings and care inside the apartment, the company now declares an expansion beyond the walls — the development vector has become devices for external surfaces and landscapes: window washing, pool cleaning, and robotic lawn mowers.

      The central products of the presentation — the new generations of flagship robotic vacuum cleaners X60 Ultra Complete and X60 Master — demonstrate how far the improvement of basic navigation technologies and cleaning mechanics has come. At the core of the navigation system is the retractable AI OmniSight lidar, which, according to the company, recognizes over 280 types of objects. This set of recognizable classes potentially enhances route planning stability in a household environment with a high degree of dynamics: children, pets, wires, small objects, and furniture with various geometries. In addition to the lidar, online planning algorithms were introduced, which is important: in a real apartment, conditions change constantly, and the ability to retrain or quickly readjust the route minimizes bottlenecks and eliminates frequent user interventions.

      The mechanical part of the X60 relies on the Vormax system, claiming peak suction of 35,000 Pa — a figure that looks impressive and competitive on paper. However, what matters more is not the absolute number, but the integration of airflow strength with design solutions: the double HyperStream 2.0 brush, the retractable pressure chamber on the brush, and intelligent adaptation modes. These elements are aimed at maintaining efficiency on different surfaces: from dense carpets to smooth hard floors. In reality, the key indicator will not be nominal power, but the ability to maintain performance under frequent use, manage brush and filter wear, and keep acceptable noise and energy consumption levels. The X60 Master version is additionally equipped with a built-in servicing station connected to water supply and sewage — a design step towards a "set it and forget it" model that reduces the user's operational hassles but simultaneously increases infrastructure and service maintenance requirements.

      The multifunctional PowerDock station highlighted at the presentation automates part of the maintenance, which makes sense in the premium segment where consumers value convenience. However, the widespread implementation of such solutions will depend on the availability of the corresponding infrastructure and the willingness of end users to pay for more complex systems based on their return on investment and reliability.

      Another significant product — the H16 Pro Steam — is positioned as a washing vacuum cleaner for cases of increased contamination and hygiene requirements. The combination of steam delivery at temperatures up to 200°C and hot water is a technically interesting solution: high-temperature steam increases the effectiveness of softening and disinfection, which is important for kitchen areas and places with biological contaminants. At the same time, in professional and household scenarios, it is necessary to consider the safety of surfaces and materials, sensitivity to thermal effects, as well as managing condensation and moisture displacement from structures. The system of robotic curtains that enhance mechanical action and high suction power creates potential for addressing stubborn stains in one pass, but the key to mass adoption will be the resilience of these modes to different types of coverings and ease of use.

      For daily cleaning, Dreame showcased the vertical vacuum cleaner Z40 TangleCut Flex+, aimed at urban apartments. Here, the main focus is on reducing hair and fur tangling on the roller and on ergonomics — a foldable and adjustable design that allows reaching under furniture. These solutions are not revolutionary but meet the needs for regular, quick cleaning in limited living spaces.

      This description should also include specific examples of devices presented at the event. The Dreame A3 Pro is a robotic lawn mower for adapted areas of medium and large size: it is equipped with a modular navigation system with GPS support and LiDAR, can operate on a schedule, navigate slopes, and return to the charging station when necessary. The manufacturer emphasizes autonomy and safety (obstacle sensors, magnetic tape fencing as an option), as well as integration into the "smart home" ecosystem for remote monitoring of lawn conditions and managing mowing zones. At the same time, key factors for successful use are proper initial setup of the plot boundaries and regular maintenance of the cutting modules.

      The E1 Station is a stationary washing complex for windows, designed for facades and large glass surfaces in both residential and commercial segments. The device combines a robotic cleaning module and a water/solution preparation station, which enhances washing quality and reduces streaks. The demonstration emphasized the system for recognizing types of contamination and adapting the cleaning mode, as well as safety — backup fastenings and tension control for vertical work. Practical effectiveness depends on installation conditions (presence of frames, protrusions, dustiness of the environment) and the availability of service maintenance for replacing sponges and filters.

      The inclusion of these three devices in Dreame's product line underscores the company's ambition to expand the realm of household robotics beyond the apartment — from lawns to windows and pools.
