It’s not merely about one device but rather the notion that the brand may have lost some of its direction over time.

      Upon first glance, the Xperia 1 VIII seems to attempt to differentiate itself, but that distinction feels somewhat superficial. It appears more like a change without a definitive goal. This is where it starts to weaken. In today’s flagship market, merely looking different is insufficient. A design must embody intent, demonstrate progress, and resonate with the direction of the industry. This model doesn't quite succeed in that regard.
