Your work can now benefit from a second opinion with Microsoft’s new Researcher features.
Earlier this month, Microsoft introduced Copilot Cowork, utilizing Anthropic’s Claude Cowork. The company has now launched Copilot Cowork in early access via its Frontier program, along with new enhancements to its Researcher tool designed to assist you in planning, analyzing, and making decisions at work.
What benefits can Microsoft’s Copilot Cowork offer you?
Copilot Cowork is an AI tool designed to manage extensive, multi-step tasks within Microsoft 365. It can assist you in conceptualizing tasks, breaking down objectives, and collaborating with you like a coworker across various documents and workflows.
You specify the desired outcome, and it formulates a plan and executes the task, keeping you updated on its progress. You can intervene and redirect it at any time. It can manage anything from singular requests to ongoing tasks, such as monthly budget reviews.
New AI features in Copilot’s Researcher tool
Microsoft is enhancing Researcher, its advanced research feature within Copilot, with two significant updates.
The first enhancement is Critique, where two AI models collaborate on the same task. OpenAI’s GPT generates the initial response, while Anthropic’s Claude reviews it for accuracy and quality prior to your review.
As reported by Reuters, Microsoft intends to make this interaction bi-directional in the future, suggesting that Claude’s drafts could be reviewed by GPT as well.
Microsoft claims this feature has increased the Researcher tool’s score by 13.8% on the DRACO benchmark, which is the industry standard for assessing accuracy and quality in deep research.
The second update is a new model called Council, which enables you to retrieve responses from different AI models and compare them side by side. You can quickly identify areas of agreement, discrepancies, and the unique contributions of each model to your question.
Microsoft states these updates are part of Wave 3 of Microsoft 365 Copilot, aimed at transitioning AI from a tool for experimentation to one that actively performs your work.

The Asus Morph 96 Wireless offers a custom keyboard experience without the DIY complexities.
It features a gasket-mount design, foam damping, and a hot-swap PCB, allowing you to experiment with switches and sound without needing to build a keyboard from the ground up.
Asus is attempting to enter the custom keyboard market without fully committing, and the ROG Strix Morph 96 Wireless is its latest effort. Initially revealed at CES 2026, the keyboard targets enthusiasts seeking a blend of customization and ready-to-use functionality.
What highlights the Morph 96 Wireless?
Modern video games reveal the limitations of AI, which can outsmart chess grandmasters but struggles with adapting to new games.
Despite the excitement around AI’s achievements in chess, go, and even programming, significant weaknesses persist. Recent discussions highlight how these celebrated milestones may obscure the distance machines still have from achieving true general intelligence.
Stanford researchers caution against using AI chatbots for personal guidance.
Their study found that users tend to prefer agreeable bots, even when such responses undermine empathy and increase moral rigidity.
Researchers at Stanford are alerting that relying on AI chatbots for personal advice may not be beneficial. The issue extends beyond mere accuracy; it's about how these systems respond in complex, real-world situations.
A new study indicates that AI models often align with users, even when they may be incorrect, thus reinforcing poor decisions rather than prompting reflection. This trend not only influences the advice provided but also impacts how people perceive their own actions. Participants engaging with excessively agreeable chatbots became more convinced of their correctness and less inclined to empathize or rectify situations.
