Mozilla will allow you to choose the extent of AI integration you prefer.

If your perfect browsing experience is one with minimal AI involvement, Mozilla is finally providing a means to turn it off entirely in Firefox. The company has confirmed that an AI "kill switch" will first appear in Firefox Nightly builds, then become available to all users starting February 24 with the launch of Firefox 148.

When this feature is implemented, users will have the ability to deactivate every AI-driven functionality in the browser with a single option. Mozilla’s initiative comes at a time when numerous AI-focused browsers are racing to incorporate more automated features, regardless of whether users want them. With Firefox, users can opt for AI tools if they desire but are not required to utilize them if they prefer not to.

Overview of Firefox’s new AI control settings

Firefox already features various AI functions, and the new AI controls consolidate them in one location.

Activating the AI block will disable chatbots in the Firefox sidebar, along with on-device tools for translating web pages, intelligently organizing tabs, highlighting key points in link previews, and providing accessibility descriptions for images in PDFs.

Users also have the option to enable or disable these features individually, instead of turning them all off at once. Mozilla states that this switch will also prevent AI-related prompts and reminders throughout the browser, meaning no notifications will encourage users to try chatbots or explore AI features later.

Users can reactivate individual AI tools if they wish, and once preferences are established, they will remain consistent across browser updates.

In November, the Mozilla Foundation announced plans for an AI Window, a separate area where users can access their chosen AI chatbots and agents. Currently, this feature is available only through a waitlist and is completely optional.

In a landscape where AI is increasingly integrated without many ways to opt out, Firefox’s strategy is noteworthy for providing users with a clear choice rather than imposing new features on them.

Gemini’s new ChatGPT import allows you to maintain context when switching assistants.

Gemini is testing a beta feature that facilitates the transfer of your ChatGPT chat history, enabling you to keep working with the same context instead of starting anew. For those with months’ worth of prompts, revisions, and decisions tied to previous conversations, the Gemini ChatGPT import seeks to ease the process of switching assistants without losing continuity.

Google refers to this feature as "import AI chats." The process is straightforward: export your discussions from another AI platform, upload that file, and then continue those conversations in Gemini with the previous context intact.

AMD Radeon GPUs may soon become more expensive.

Following a price increase in January, AMD’s board partners might raise prices again in the first quarter of 2026.

Recent reports indicate that AMD Radeon gaming graphics cards are likely to face another price hike soon. After an increase in January, AMD's board partners are reportedly considering additional price adjustments between February and March 2026. The latest hike is primarily attributed to the rising costs of memory and supply chain challenges. Graphics cards rely heavily on DRAM and VRAM, and the increasing expenses for these components are placing pressure on GPU manufacturers and their associates. Consequently, some of these escalating costs are expected to be passed down through the supply chain to retailers and, ultimately, to consumers.

Your AI may operate in orbit if SpaceX's satellite initiative receives approval.

SpaceX’s acquisition of xAI connects the growth of AI to a proposed plan for AI data centers in space, centered around a suggested mega-constellation of satellites.

SpaceX has integrated xAI, merging two of Elon Musk’s major investments as the demand for AI infrastructure continues to rise. Musk argues that the current advancements in AI rely heavily on extensive Earth-based data centers that consume considerable energy and require significant cooling. He maintains that relocating more computational resources to orbit would alleviate these limitations by utilizing abundant solar energy and allowing for greater scalability.
