According to the company's specialists, it is the world's first model of this kind of equipment and is capable of operating even in areas with no GPS signal.
At an exhibition dedicated to the development of unmanned technologies, the leading Russian developer of unmanned transport based on artificial intelligence (AI), Cognitive Pilot, presented to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, the world's first multifunctional fully unmanned and cabinless mini-tractor, capable of operating in areas without GPS signal, including regions close to territories where the special military operation is being conducted, where satellite navigation signals are jammed by electronic warfare systems.
The solution is entirely Russian. The robot is produced at Cognitive Pilot's factory in Tomsk. The mini-tractor performs all major agricultural operations: sowing, cultivation, harrowing, plowing, spraying and more. The accuracy of their execution is 1–2 cm.
The mini-tractor's autopilot sees and understands everything happening in the field like a human. Based on information obtained from video cameras, it builds movement trajectories and makes the necessary decisions. The main advantage of the new machine is that it does not need an operator. This is a problem that exists in 100% of farms.
The unmanned vehicle can be used in group operations 24/7. This is critically important because the time window for carrying out agricultural work, due to weather factors, is quite narrow. At the same time, due to its design the robo-tractor requires modest maintenance costs (the robot's design is simplified — it has no swivel joints, no gearbox, the suspension is optimized, i.e. parts that most often fail are excluded). The robot combines the advantages of control using AI tools and high-precision positioning (this capability is used as a supplement in areas where there are no visible landmarks).
Experts of the association "IntrerAgroTech" estimated that the ultimate efficiency of a robo-tractor unit can exceed that of conventional machinery by up to 10 times. Farm efficiency when using it can be increased by up to 40% due to round-the-clock operation, the precision of work execution, and savings of time, fuel, fertilizers and other resources.
The quality of agricultural operations performed by the mini-tractor, like that of a CNC machine, is completely independent of the human factor, ensuring guaranteed benchmark-quality processing of the entire field surface, which is monitored by the machine itself on every square meter by installing a set of sensors on ploughs, harrows and other equipment. This is a unique and distinctive feature of the new machine.
Earlier, Cognitive Pilot released an update to autopilot systems for agricultural machinery and rail transport in which the neural network structure was improved.
