The Acer Nitro bent
A new model has been released in the Nitro monitor lineup — the curved Acer EDA323QUS3 with a 31.5-inch diagonal. The specifications place the main emphasis on a balance between gaming capabilities and content work.
Display and panel specifications
The monitor is built on a VA panel with a 1500R curvature radius. Static contrast is 3000:1 — a typical value for VA technology, providing deep black levels. Viewing angles are specified at 178 degrees horizontally and vertically. Peak brightness is 250 cd/m². Eye protection features include proprietary Flickerless (no backlight flicker) and BlueLightShield (blue light filter) modes.
Resolution, refresh rate and response time
The screen resolution is 2560×1440 pixels (WQHD), which yields a pixel density of about 93 PPI. The maximum refresh rate reaches 180 Hz when using DisplayPort 1.4. When connected via HDMI 2.0 the rate is limited to 144 Hz. Minimum response time (VRB) is 1 ms. Adaptive sync support is provided by AMD FreeSync Premium, operating within the specified frequency range.
Color characteristics
The monitor covers 90% of the DCI-P3 color space and 99% of sRGB, indicating orientation toward multimedia content and amateur graphic work. Color depth is 8-bit (6-bit + FRC). HDR support complies with the VESA DisplayHDR 400 standard with a peak brightness of 400 cd/m² for compatible content.
Interfaces and connectivity
The port selection includes two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 and an analog 3.5 mm audio output for headphones or external speakers. The built-in audio system consists of two 2 W stereo speakers.
Ergonomics and construction
The stand offers tilt adjustment only, ranging from -5 to 20 degrees. Height adjustment, swivel or pivot to portrait mode are not provided. An alternative is mounting on a bracket or wall via the standard VESA 100×100 mm interface. Dimensions with the stand are 708.9×528.5×304.3 mm, weight — about 7.8 kg.
Additional features
The monitor features proprietary gaming lighting (a light halo) on the rear panel. Hotkeys on the control panel are provided for quick scene setup. The package includes HDMI and DisplayPort cables.
