In 2023, Microsoft signed a 10-year agreement with Nintendo to make Xbox games, including Call of Duty, available on Nintendo platforms. It seems the release is approaching, as a data miner has discovered code related to Nintendo in a recent update for Call of Duty.

The data miner, known as Reality on X, does not specify which Call of Duty title contains the code indicating a Nintendo release, but mentions that the references can be found in the PlatformFamily, ClientPlatformToPlatformFamily, and ClientPlatformFamilyToAccountType sections. Reality also suggests that this could signal an upcoming launch, with Nintendo possibly making an official announcement during its next set of updates.

As reported by Video Games Chronicle, the Call of Duty game is expected to debut on the Nintendo Switch 2, though it is not clear if it will also be made available for the original Switch. The publication also speculates that Microsoft may announce the launch at its Xbox Developer Direct event later this month, where it intends to showcase Forza Horizon 6, Fable, and Beast of Reincarnation, along with a rumored fourth game.

Further indications of a forthcoming release

This leak comes closely on the heels of a statement by Jez Corden from Windows Central last month, who indicated that the first Call of Duty title for Nintendo Switch “is nearly finished and will launch in a few months.” Thus far, there has been no comment from either Microsoft or Nintendo regarding these statements.

The release of a Call of Duty game would represent one of the most significant third-party launches on Nintendo hardware in years, greatly enhancing the Switch 2’s game library beyond first-party offerings. The franchise has not been available on a Nintendo platform since Call of Duty: Ghosts on the Wii U, making its return particularly noteworthy for fans of first-person shooters.

Why constructing a gaming PC in 2026 is impractical

For nearly a decade, I’ve advocated for "build, don't buy," but looking at the current component pricing landscape, I’m compelled to adopt a more realistic perspective. Analyzing the figures related to the latest 50-series cards and Ryzen 9000 processors reveals that the current economics heavily favor system integrators who secured bulk pricing months ago.

Acer remains tight-lipped about the Nitro Blaze handheld release date

After missing CES 2026, Acer states that its US plans are still in place, but launch details remain unresolved.

During CES 2026, Acer showcased monitors, laptops, and other hardware in Las Vegas. However, the absence of any mention of the Nitro Blaze handheld gaming PCs, which have been teased for over a year, was noticeable. If you’re waiting for the release date of the Acer Nitro Blaze handheld before purchasing your next portable device, you remain in a state of uncertainty. Acer has indicated that the handheld category is part of its US plans, but the company has not established a local launch date and is focusing on core products while costs driven by tariffs remain unpredictable.
