HITBOT unveiled a novel “operating system + hardware matrix” framework this year, as embodied intelligence began its large-scale application, signifying a new phase in the company's journey within intelligent robotics. A member of the Xiaomi ecosystem, HITBOT was established in 2015 and introduced three major innovations: the HITBOT OS, a universal operating system for embodied intelligence; the eHand-6, an economical dexterous robotic hand; and a prototype humanoid robot.
This new product range illustrates HITBOT’s commitment to enhancing system-level intelligence, with the aim of making human-machine collaboration more flexible, accessible, and scalable across sectors such as research, manufacturing, and services.
HITBOT OS – the Android system adapted for robots
Released in March 2025, HITBOT OS represents the company’s inaugural universal embodied intelligence operating system. It incorporates a dual-layer cognitive architecture of “brain + cerebellum.” The brain combines distributed AI with industry-specific knowledge bases to interpret natural language instructions and autonomously create execution strategies, while the cerebellum converts these decisions into accurate mechanical movements, ensuring safe and high-precision motion control.
This architecture enables robots to transition from merely executing tasks to actively comprehending them. For example, in life science labs, researchers can simply state “perform sample pre-processing,” and the system will automatically decompose the task into activities like dissolving, filtering, and centrifuging, and then coordinate the suitable devices to execute the workflow. With over 300 built-in equipment protocols and a low-code visual interface, HITBOT OS allows users to design automation processes through simple drag-and-drop actions, significantly cutting down development time from several days to just hours.
eHand-6: an affordable dexterous robotic hand at $420
This year, HITBOT released the eHand-6, a dexterous robotic hand priced at 2,999 RMB ($420). Its biomimetic design with five fingers allows for precision grasping, rotation, and various other complex movements, with a maximum grip force of 10N and a lifting capability of 5kg. The modular design and open interfaces enable users to personalize and expand its features for diverse applications, including research, education, and small to medium enterprises.
In commercial scenarios, the eHand-6 can automate tasks in retail and service, such as preparing drinks or performing light industrial tasks such as assembling small components and packaging products.
Humanoid robot prototype: moving from understanding to action within a closed loop
Last month at the China International Industry Fair, HITBOT showcased a humanoid robot prototype with 19 degrees of freedom. Integrating HITBOT OS, the robot possesses a fully closed-loop intelligence system, allowing it to comprehend tasks and carry out actions autonomously. Currently, HITBOT has not designated a specific name for this humanoid robot prototype, as it is still under development and testing.
Hardware matrix and intelligent ecosystem connecting smart agents like building blocks
HITBOT’s four-axis collaborative robotic arms dominate over half of the domestic market share in China, and its six-axis arms achieve a repeat positioning accuracy of ±0.02mm, as per the company. Alongside smart electric cylinders, rotary grippers, and electric dexterous hands, these actuators construct a comprehensive product system that encompasses manufacturing, research, and new retail scenarios.
“Our aim is more than just supplying tools,” the company stated. “We aspire to establish an open embodied intelligence ecosystem that allows smart agents to integrate into various applications as easily as assembling building blocks.” Currently, HITBOT's solutions cater to over 3,000 clients across industries including life sciences, 3C electronics, and retail beverage chains, with international markets spanning numerous countries such as the U.S., Germany, and Japan.
Advancing robotics through operating systems and modular hardware
By merging a universal operating system with modular hardware, HITBOT is pushing forward robotics from isolated intelligence towards system-level intelligence. The combination of HITBOT OS and the eHand-6 lowers the barriers to automation and lays a technological groundwork for broader acceptance of embodied intelligence.
This strategy facilitates the expansion of human-machine collaboration from high-end laboratories to practical industrial and research environments, reflecting broader trends in the development of automation and intelligent systems.
