On Tuesday, Kylin Software, a subsidiary of China Electronics, unveiled KylinOS V11 at the 2025 China Operating System Industry Conference. This launch marks the introduction of the first commercial operating system in China based on Linux Kernel 6.6. This release represents a significant advancement in enhancing stability and security as China seeks to bolster its core capabilities in operating systems.

The system incorporates AI for both office and server applications, featuring a pre-installed AI subsystem and assistant for easy access to local or cloud resources, as well as support for text-to-image generation and intelligent Q&A capabilities. It also optimizes the deployment of AI, improves inference efficiency, and utilizes heterogeneous computing (CPU/GPU/NPU) to manage energy consumption while enhancing model concurrency for enterprise-level AI enhancements.
Security is a fundamental strength of KylinOS V11, which ensures comprehensive file protection through various features such as secure vaults, anti-screenshot capabilities, encrypted file transfers, and file shredding tools. The platform has developed a closed-loop control system with a tiered policy mechanism that allows for meticulous management and meets the endpoint control demands of enterprises.
KylinOS has played a role in significant national aerospace projects, including the Tianwen Mars mission and the space station, achieving over 100,000 hours of error-free operation, as reported by the company.
Context: The KylinOS V11 ecosystem has successfully undergone over seven million adaptations for hardware and software, ensuring compatibility with leading domestic CPUs, GPUs, and accelerator cards.
The Kylin SDK offers more than 2,200 developer interfaces, accompanied by a dedicated developer forum and toolkits. Currently, KylinOS has been implemented in over 16 million instances across key industries and has held the top position in China's Linux market for 14 consecutive years.
