      Superman | Official Trailer

In the latest trailer from DC Studios, Superman is depicted as a hero with inner turmoil. Rather than interacting with Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) as Clark Kent, David Corenswet’s character engages in an interview as Superman.

“Recently, you’ve faced significant criticism,” Lois tells Superman. While he believes he has prevented a war, Lois argues that the Man of Steel unlawfully entered a foreign nation. When prompted to reflect on the repercussions, Superman exclaims, “People were going to die.”

The poignant trailer highlights Superman's internal struggle throughout the film. His choices, made with good intentions, will have global repercussions. While some see these decisions as a heavy burden, Jonathan Kent (Pruitt Taylor Vince) views them as a blessing.

“Your choices and your actions define who you are,” Jonathan tells Clark in an emotional exchange outside their family home.

The trailer also highlights Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult), Superman’s formidable adversary. Luthor is incensed by how a being from another planet has become the world's most vital asset.

“He's not a man,” Luthor asserts in the footage. “He’s an ‘it’ that has somehow become the center of the world’s discussion.”

The cast of Superman features a diverse lineup, including Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Frank Grillo, and Neva Howell.

James Gunn is both writing and directing Superman, the inaugural film in the DC Universe. Peter Safran, co-CEO of DC Studios alongside Gunn, will produce.

It’s fair to say that the destiny of the DC Universe hinges on Superman. This film must succeed both critically and commercially for the DCU to have any viable future. Gunn has demonstrated his capacity to excel in this genre, successfully transforming Guardians of the Galaxy into a multi-billion-dollar franchise.

Superman is set to premiere on July 11.

Judge dismisses lawsuit regarding Superman distribution rights

A judge has dismissed a lawsuit questioning Warner Bros.' authority to distribute James Gunn's Superman in ten countries, including the U.K. and Ireland. The lawsuit, initiated in January by Mark Peary, the nephew of the late Superman co-creator Joe Schuster, claimed that Schuster's estate had the right to terminate the Superman copyright in certain areas. In a ruling released on April 24, U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman determined that the court lacked jurisdiction over the estate’s rights under foreign laws. “The Court concludes that it lacks subject-matter jurisdiction over this case; therefore, the case must be and is dismissed,” he stated.

In Predator: Badlands, Elle Fanning teams up with … a predator!

In the Predator franchise, humans are typically the heroes, while Predators serve as the villains. These two forces have engaged in life-and-death struggles across various locations, including the jungles of Central America, the Great Plains of America, and the streets of Los Angeles. However, in Predator: Badlands, the roles are reversed, with the Predator taking center stage as the protagonist. 20th Century Studios has released the first teaser for Predator: Badlands, introducing audiences to a realm of chaos. The story revolves around Dek (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), a Predator who is an outcast from his clan. During his exploration of this unfamiliar planet, Dek encounters Thia (Elle Fanning), who seems to be an android for the Weyland-Yutani corporation.
