Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been postponed from its original 2025 release date to “early 2026,” as announced by the team on social media. The lack of recent updates regarding the game makes the delay somewhat expected. The team did not specify the reason behind the delay.
“Taking this extra time will allow us to add more polish and ensure we provide you with the best possible experience, one that aligns with our vision,” the message states. “We have some exciting things planned and can’t wait to share more soon!”
This marks the second eagerly awaited game to shift out of the 2025 holiday season after Grand Theft Auto 6, and it joins a lineup of other prominent titles originally slated for 2025, including Fable.
On a positive note, it appears that Skydance Games may soon have a new trailer to reveal, offering another glimpse of the game. While information has been sparse, we know that Marvel 1943 is designed to be a narrative-driven action game set in the 1940s. It was first showcased at Epic Games’ State of Unreal event during GDC as part of a tech demo, demonstrating impressive graphics that made it resemble a Marvel film.
The official game page states, “In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Captain America and Azzuri, the Black Panther of the 1940s, must set aside their differences and forge an uneasy alliance to face their shared enemy. Alongside Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos and Nanali, a Wakandan spy in Occupied Paris, they must unite to thwart a malevolent plan that threatens to transform the turmoil of WWII into the ultimate rise of Hydra.”
The game suggests that players will be stepping into the MCU, which is something we fully support.
