Daredevil: Born Again season 1 was significantly reimagined following the 2023 strikes by actors and writers. Dario Scardapane, known for his work on The Punisher series on Netflix, was appointed as the new showrunner and implemented many changes to the series that were positively received. Nevertheless, there is one episode that Scardapane did not alter, which happens to be the least favorite of the show's lead, Charlie Cox.

During an interview with The Playlist, Cox expressed his dislike for the fifth episode of the season, titled “With Interest,” which predominantly stands alone and features his character, Matt Murdock, caught in a bank during a hostage situation.

“I [don’t know] if this is of interest, but I will say this amidst all of this, there was one episode we didn’t change at all,” stated Cox. “It’s the bank episode, and that was part of the original [shoot]. We filmed that before the strike. That was part of the original [draft], and for my part, I wasn’t into it.”

Cox further disclosed that it is his “least favorite” episode and mentioned that he “pushed back against it as much as I could.” Despite this, he was taken aback to discover that some fans adored the episode, and he was told by someone at Disney+ that it performed very well.

“I really pushed back on the episode, and yet I hear from so many people that they love that episode,” recalls Cox. “So, it demonstrates that you just can’t know. It's subjective; everyone has different tastes. I’ve heard that this episode is one of the highest-rated. Internally, based on their ratings, it ranks among the top Disney shows they’ve had.”

Cox confirmed that production for season 2 commenced earlier this year. Matthew Lillard has recently been added to the cast in a role that has yet to be disclosed. Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is anticipated to debut on Disney+ in the spring of 2026.

Matt Murdock confronts Wilson Fisk in the Daredevil: Born Again trailer

Matt Murdock is set to step into the MCU limelight in the initial trailer for the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again. "Well, I will admit. It's not entirely unpleasant seeing you again," comments Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, to Charlie Cox's Murdock, evoking a scene reminiscent of the diner showdown in Heat. Fisk is campaigning for the mayorship of New York City, while Murdock, who is blind, prefers to fight crime in the courtroom as a lawyer rather than as the vigilante Daredevil. However, by the end of the trailer, Murdock returns to his Daredevil suit and delivers justice through combat.

Charlie Cox is preparing for his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the upcoming Avengers film, Avengers: Doomsday. An Instagram post from DFRNT Health and Fitness shows Cox alongside his wife and two trainers at the gym. The caption indicates that Cox is training for his portrayal of Daredevil in the next Avengers installment.

Marvel Studios has revealed its 2025 Disney+ TV lineup, including Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, and Wonder Man. The studio showcased its forthcoming TV slate in a teaser that was aired during the Agatha All Along finale. The footage included glimpses of the three live-action series set to launch in 2025: Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, and Wonder Man.

Daredevil: Born Again is slated to premiere on March 4, 2025. The series will see the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Cox and D'Onofrio reprise their roles from Netflix's Daredevil, which aired from 2015 to 2018. Additionally, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher will also return for Born Again.
