Only Jordan Peele could take on the terrifying aspects of football in Him.
HIM | Official Teaser Trailer
Football dominates the American landscape. The sport's immense popularity fuels discussions, drives television ratings, and generates staggering revenue. Yet, it also harbors a darker side that many choose to overlook. Renowned horror director Jordan Peele explores this theme in his new film, Him.
Produced through Peele's Monkeypaw Productions, Him poses a provocative question: What are you willing to sacrifice to achieve greatness? Following its impressive reception at CinemaCon, Universal has officially unveiled the first teaser trailer for Him.
Tyriq Withers takes on the role of Cameron Cade, a rising quarterback who is completely immersed in football. Just before the scouting combine, Cam sustains a life-changing brain injury inflicted by a disturbed fan. This head trauma jeopardizes Cam's football aspirations and could spiral him into turmoil. He desperately seeks assistance to salvage his career.
Isaiah White, portrayed by Marlon Wayans, enters the scene as a legendary eight-time championship quarterback and cultural icon. He invites Cam to his remote compound, an offer the young star readily accepts. The chilling teaser depicts Cam's descent into madness under Isaiah’s influence, as he becomes engulfed in a cult-like hysteria. After a chilling demand for sacrifice, Isaiah calmly instructs, “Then show me,” concluding the teaser with a bloodied Cam posing on a football field.
Universal Pictures
Julia Fox plays Elsie White, Isaiah's celebrity influencer wife who resides at the compound. The cast of Him also includes Tim Heidecker, Jim Jefferies, Maurice Greene, Guapdad 4000, and Tierra Whack.
Justin Tipping directs Him, with a screenplay co-written by him, Zack Akers, and Skip Bronkie. Peele serves as producer alongside Ian Cooper, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal M. Watson.
When will Peele direct his first feature film since 2022’s Nope? His next film is scheduled for release on October 23, 2026, about 18 months from now.
