Three action films on Netflix you should check out in April 2025.

      As the summer movie season approaches, Netflix is set to debut a new action film by Gareth Evans at the end of the month. "Havoc" features Tom Hardy as a seasoned detective tasked with rescuing the son of a corrupt politician from a dire situation. With Evans directing and Hardy in the lead role, viewers can anticipate a plethora of intricately designed and intensely violent action scenes.

      "Havoc" will be available for streaming on April 25. To tide you over until that date, we've compiled a guide with three action films currently available to stream. Our selections include a classic by Michael Mann, a sequel to a heist film, and a survival thriller.

Esteemed as an exceptional heist film, "Heat" marked the first time Robert De Niro and Al Pacino shared the screen.

      Neil McCauley (De Niro) is a criminal genius guided by a strict moral code, while Lieutenant Vincent Hanna (Pacino) is a tireless cop focused on his work. The two strong personalities are headed for a showdown, particularly when Hanna learns of McCauley’s plans for one final heist. For heist films, there’s BH and AH — Before Heat and After Heat.       In relation to heists, the "Den of Thieves" series evidently draws inspiration from "Heat." Following the unexpected success of "Den of Thieves" in 2018, Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr. return for another caper in "Den of Thieves 2: Pantera." After failing to apprehend Donnie Wilson (Jackson) during the Federal Reserve heist, Big Nick O’Brien’s (Butler) life descends into chaos as he can't shake off the fact that Donnie outsmarted him.

      Fixated on capturing Donnie, Big Nick tracks him down in France and forcibly integrates himself into his crew for the next job. Now allied with the criminals, Big Nick collaborates with Donnie and the Panther crew in an attempt to pull off their biggest heist yet: striking a vault at the World Diamond Center.

      Those with a fear of heights might want to steer clear of this one. Baltasar Kormákur’s "Everest" recounts a tragic climbing expedition from the 1990s, featuring an impressive ensemble cast, including Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Keira Knightley, Sam Worthington, and Jake Gyllenhaal.

      Set in May 1996, competing climbing experts Rob Hall (Clarke) and Scott Fischer (Gyllenhaal) ready their teams for an ascent of Mount Everest. As they descend, a snowstorm strikes the mountain, putting the climbers’ safety at grave risk. Given that this is based on a real and heartbreaking story, not all will make it out alive. "Everest" is sure to challenge your emotions in this gripping and powerful thriller.
