Affordable gaming laptops equipped with Nvidia technology may be coming soon.
Nvidia's top graphics cards are now present in laptops, yet gamers are still on the lookout for more affordable alternatives. Some laptops featuring the RTX 5090 command prices of $5,000 or more. Thankfully, new leaks indicate that Nvidia is preparing to launch more mainstream laptops, which will include GPUs that have yet to be disclosed.
As noted by VideoCardz, it appears that several Nvidia partners are gearing up to introduce new laptops, notably those equipped with the RTX 5060 and RTX 5050. This isn’t the first time these GPUs have been mentioned, which adds a level of credibility to the speculation, but it’s best not to get overly excited just yet — we need to wait for Nvidia's official announcement.
Currently, early leaks from Nvidia’s associates give us some insight into the situation. For instance, the LG Gram Pro is expected to be released soon, with one variant featuring the RTX 5050. This model is anticipated to debut in the second quarter of the year, meaning we might have to wait some time before these budget-friendly laptops are available.
Additionally, the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 is rumored to allow for discrete graphics, with the RTX 5050 being the listed option. The total power output for the laptop is set at 135 watts, and the CPU can draw up to 70W, leaving only 65 watts for the GPU. While this isn’t much, there may be a version with higher power consumption for improved performance. Total graphics power (TGP) plays a significant role in laptops and can greatly influence gameplay performance.

According to VideoCardz, the Razer Blade 16, which was recently tested with both the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, will soon offer the RTX 5060 configuration. Razer products typically come with a hefty price tag, and while I don’t expect the Blade to be inexpensive, it should be more budget-friendly than the existing RTX 5090 models.
At this moment, the RTX 5060 and RTX 5050 remain unannounced.
The RTX 5050, much like the previous-generation RTX 4050, may solely be a laptop GPU, as the desktop version of the RTX 4050 was never released, though many laptops with it are available. While the laptop version may not be extremely powerful, it can manage a decent amount of gaming with the assistance of DLSS 3.
Nvidia is anticipated to announce the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 in just a few days. We might also receive more details about laptops, so stay tuned.
