Halle Berry has stated that she will not reprise her role as Storm in Avengers: Doomsday.
20th Century Studios
Last month, Marvel announced most of the cast for Avengers: Doomsday, featuring many actors from the 20th Century Fox X-Men films. However, there were some significant absences from the returning X-Men, notably Halle Berry and Hugh Jackman. While Jackman is expected to appear in some capacity following his recent role in Deadpool & Wolverine, Berry has seemingly dismissed the idea of returning as Storm in Doomsday.
During an interview with Black Girl Nerds at CinemaCon, Berry was asked if she would be included in the next casting announcement for Doomsday. She replied, “Keep waiting, not gonna be there. Not gonna be there.”

Berry had previously shown more openness to returning during a 2021 chat with Vanity Fair, stating that she would consider it if the story “made sense.”
“I would absolutely return to it,” Berry said back then. “[She’s] a beloved character, I loved playing Storm, and people love Storm. So, if we could find a version that made sense, or a storyline that felt right, I would absolutely do that.”
Currently, Rebecca Romijn is the only female cast member from the X-Men series confirmed to return, reprising her role as Mystique. There is still no news about whether Famke Janssen or Anna Paquin will reprise their roles as Jean Grey or Rogue, respectively. So far, male X-Men characters confirmed for Doomsday include Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), James Marsden (Cyclops), and Kelsey Grammer (Beast).
Avengers: Doomsday is set to release in theaters on May 1, 2026.

For those interested in the legal dispute involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, the documentary In Dispute: Lively v Baldoni is now streaming on Max and has rapidly become a top movie on the platform. Additionally, new releases such as Queer and Heretic are enjoying a larger audience through streaming than they did in theaters.
Looking beyond the homepage, there is a solid selection of underrated films available. One such movie is a superhero adventure that faced poor critical reviews but has gained new attention due to the unfortunate passing of its lead. You can find that movie along with two others listed below.
We also have guides to the best films on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on Max, and the best movies on Disney+.
Drinking Buddies (2013)
Director Joe Swanberg is a key figure in the mumblecore movement, characterized by low-budget films that prioritize dialogue and improvisation over structured plots. Drinking Buddies fits well into this genre. Who talks more than those enjoying a beer together?
Kate (Olivia Wilde) and Luke (Jake Johnson) are co-workers at a Chicago brewery. Their chemistry and humorous interactions might suggest they are dating, yet both are in separate relationships. As they invite their partners to join them, the situation grows awkward, prompting Kate and Jake to reassess their feelings for one another. It’s a light-hearted relationship drama that pairs well with a cold beer.

3 great Hulu movies to stream this weekend (April 4-6)
If you visited Hulu's homepage this week, you may have seen the promotion for Tombstone, one of Val Kilmer’s finest films. Kilmer passed away earlier this week, and the film's return to Hulu on April 1 was a coincidence. However, in tribute to the late actor, it seems apt to highlight Tombstone as one of the three must-watch movies on Hulu this weekend.
The other two selections include a gripping psychological thriller and a comedy-drama from one of Hollywood's more unconventional directors.
