Samsung's upcoming Fan Edition tablets may challenge the patience of enthusiasts.
Samsung is anticipated to unveil new budget-friendly tablets in the upcoming weeks, broadening its range of “Fan Edition” products. However, the upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 FE series may challenge the loyalty of Samsung fans with a higher price point.
YTechB has revealed the rumored pricing details for the standard Galaxy Tab S10 FE and its Plus version, indicating an expected price increase of at least $50. According to the outlet, the prices are as follows:
- Galaxy Tab S10 FE (8GB RAM / 128GB storage) – $499
- Galaxy Tab S10 FE (12GB RAM / 256GB storage) – $569
- Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ (8GB RAM / 128GB storage) – $649
- Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ (12GB RAM / 256GB storage) – $749
To Upgrade or Not?
For comparison, the entry-level Galaxy Tab S FE began at $450 in the US for the variant with 6GB of RAM. This time, Samsung has upgraded the base model to feature 8GB of RAM, which may help justify the price rise.
Interestingly, Samsung is also enhancing the RAM in the higher-end model from 8GB to 12GB, although the maximum onboard storage remains at 256GB. This upgrade will also come with an additional $50 cost.
The Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus initially started at $600, and its successor is expected to retail for around $650. Unfortunately, consumers will not see any upgrades in RAM or storage for the Plus variant, even though the price is higher.
Furthermore, the Plus model will have one less rear camera compared to its predecessor, as indicated by leaked renders.
What to Expect from the Galaxy Tab S10 FE Series?
Regarding design, Samsung is maintaining a well-known all-metal appearance with flat edges. This year, the screen size is set to increase, similar to the iPad Air, with the Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ expected to feature a 13.1-inch display, slightly larger than Apple’s mid-range tablet.
While it is unclear if an OLED upgrade is on the horizon, expectations are low given the product's market positioning. Internally, Samsung will reportedly use its own Exynos 1580 processor.
According to alleged benchmark results, this chip is about 32% faster in the upcoming tablet compared to the Exynos 1380 chip used in the Galaxy Tab S9 series. Based on our evaluations, the Exynos 1580 found in the Galaxy A56 outperforms Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 in single-core benchmarks, though it lags behind in multi-core performance.
Both versions of the Galaxy Tab S10 FE will come with stylus support right out of the box and will feature 45W wired charging, the fastest option available from Samsung. Currently, further details about the internal components remain undisclosed, but information from regulatory databases suggests that an official launch is imminent.
