Black Mirror: Season 7 | Official Trailer | Netflix

Netflix's most unsettling nightmares return in the trailer for Black Mirror season 7. The British sci-fi series is back with “six electrifying stories,” including a sequel to the Emmy-winning episode USS Callister, which premiered season 4. This marks the first sequel in Black Mirror's history, focusing on an unpopular video game developer (Jesse Plemons) who designs a Star Trek-inspired video game featuring digital replicas of his colleagues. Notable cast members returning from USS Callister for the sequel include Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson, and Billy Magnussen.

“Fans of the show will spot the cast of a specific spaceship from one of our episodes making a comeback,” series creator Charlie Brooker shared with Netflix. "For the first time in Black Mirror, we’ve created a sequel. Typically, I eliminate all characters by the end of an episode, but this time I kept some alive. I’m evolving as a person.”

The USS Callister isn't the only episode showcasing returning characters. Will Poulter and Asim Chaudhry reprise their roles as Tuckersoft employees Colin Ritman and Mohan Thakur, who were featured in the 2018 interactive film Bandersnatch, where viewers made choices to alter the story's ending.

Netflix remains tight-lipped about the rest of the episodes in season 7. However, the impressive cast has been announced, featuring Michele Austin, Awkwafina, Milanka Brooks, Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Patsy Ferran, Paul Giamatti, Lewis Gribben, Osy Ikhile, Rashida Jones, Siena Kelly, Rosy McEwen, Josh Finan, James Nelson-Joyce, Chris O’Dowd, Issa Rae, Paul G. Raymond, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jay Simpson, Ben Bailey Smith, Harriet Walter, and Michael Workéyè.

Known for creating the series, Emmy winner Charlie Brooker serves as executive producer alongside Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones. The first two seasons of Black Mirror and a Christmas special were broadcast on British Channel 4. Subsequent seasons have aired exclusively on Netflix. Black Mirror season 7 will premiere on April 10 on Netflix.

The film, directed by the Russo Brothers, is adapted from Simon Stålenhag's sci-fi novel of the same name, with a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The Russos have not directed a feature film since 2022's The Gray Man, an action thriller starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans.
