Both Samsung and Apple are preparing to unveil ultra-slim smartphone models this year. Speculation indicates that Apple aims for a high-density design to enhance performance, but a certification from Denmark reveals that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge lacks a similar feature.

According to GSMArena, the certification indicates that the S25 Edge will be equipped with a 3,900 mAh battery, which is 100 mAh smaller than that of the S25. While it's logical for a more compact phone to have a reduced battery size, Samsung may regret this move if the iPhone 17 Air successfully combines a small size with a high-capacity battery.

Additional rumors surrounding the S25 Edge suggest it will feature the same 8-core Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset as other S series models, promising substantial power. However, increased performance often leads to greater battery consumption, which could pose challenges for the S25 Edge due to its smaller battery.

Reports indicate that Samsung plans to unveil the S25 Edge on April 16, allowing it to hit the market ahead of Apple's iPhone 17 Air. Yet, it remains to be seen if this timing will alleviate its battery issues. Samsung may struggle to market battery life as a selling point, which could be detrimental, especially as consumers come to expect improved battery longevity with each new smartphone launch. While the ultra-slim design might justify the reduced battery capacity, this strategy could backfire if Apple's slim device circumvents the same drawback.

Additionally, there's a chance that loyal consumers may not easily switch brands—Android users are likely to choose the sleek Samsung phone, while iOS users may prefer the streamlined iPhone. Therefore, the S25 Edge’s lower-capacity battery may not be catastrophic. In any case, clarity should come in just over a month.

The Galaxy S25 Edge will replace glass on the back with a lighter material.

At the Galaxy S25 launch, Samsung not only teased but also confirmed the upcoming thin phone. Expected to be less than 6mm thick, the Galaxy S25 Edge is set to be Samsung's slimmest candy-bar phone and may divert attention from the iPhone 17 Air, which is still speculative. New information has surfaced about how the Galaxy S25 Edge could achieve a lighter weight, which relates to Samsung revisiting an older design choice.

Reports indicate that the Galaxy S25 Edge will forgo glass in favor of a more durable material. SamMobile claims to have exclusive details about the alternative material: Samsung is reportedly choosing a ceramic material paired with an aluminum frame.

Samsung begins introducing Galaxy S25 camera enhancements to Galaxy S24 devices.

Although Samsung's previous flagship phones have not yet experienced Android 15, those who enrolled in beta testing are finally receiving a consolation update. Samsung has initiated the rollout of One UI 7’s fourth beta update for the Galaxy S24 series smartphones.

Numerous users on X, Samsung’s Community Forum, and YouTube have announced the arrival of the latest beta update on their Galaxy S24 series devices in India and Korea. This update includes the February Android security patch, but the most significant addition is a crucial camera feature that Samsung launched with the Galaxy S25 series earlier this year.

The first thing to note is that there haven’t been substantial changes in hardware. Both models feature a 200-megapixel main camera with an f/1.7 aperture, phase-detection autofocus (PDAF), and optical image stabilization (OIS). In addition, both devices are equipped with two telephoto cameras: one 10MP telephoto with OIS for 3x optical zoom, and another 50MP telephoto with OIS for 5x optical zoom.
