      Where Tomorrow Electrifies Today

      Infinix

If you have an Ultramarine iPhone 16 and find the color unappealing, what options do you have? Typically, you might wait until your next upgrade (potentially to an iPhone 17) to get a different color. But what if you become tired of your phone's color daily? This is where Infinix's new E-Color Shift 2.0 technology comes in. Unveiled at MWC 2025, this groundbreaking technology could enable you to continuously customize your smartphone’s appearance.

With E-Color Shift 2.0, you can tailor your device’s look using dynamic, interactive color transitions based on your chosen preferences and environmental factors. The technology offers six patterns and six color palettes, resulting in 30 distinct combinations.

You can also take advantage of the AI-Recognize Mode within E-Color Shift, which utilizes AI-driven modules to automatically modify the color of your phone's back cover according to various elements such as weather, wallpapers, and your surroundings. This creates a fluid and evolving aesthetic experience.

As Liang Zhang, Deputy General Manager at Infinix Mobility, notes: “We are looking into expanding customization options through a software application, allowing up to 60 customizable areas on the hardware, each supporting different colors. Users can also personalize their phone's back cover by displaying the time, mood, and other information in a matrix format. This approach enables users to showcase their individuality and communicate unique information through distinctive phone designs, moving beyond simple color changes. This gives their device a refreshed appearance and sensation.”

While it is unlikely that future phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy S26 or Apple iPhone 17, will incorporate E-Color Shift, this technology may eventually find its way into new smartphones in the years to come. The critical question remains: What will be the battery consumption? If the power demands are manageable, E-Color Shift 2.0 could revolutionize the market.

In the meantime, consider your next phone purchase carefully. You’ll be living with that color for a year or more, depending on your upgrade frequency.

More people are opting for used iPhones rather than new ones, and here’s why

Pause before purchasing a brand-new iPhone. In 2024, Apple led the refurbished smartphone market with a share of 56%—a 5% increase from 2023, according to a report by Counterpoint Research. This growth rate surpassed that of the new phone market, which only grew by 3%.

Apple was a primary driver of market expansion. In several areas, the supply of refurbished phones exceeded demand. There were so many high-demand models that the average sales price fell to $394, down from $445 in 2023.

Adobe brings Photoshop to the iPhone with AI editing tools

Adobe has introduced a new Photoshop app for iPhones, featuring advanced tools like masking, targeted adjustments, and layer control for the mobile platform. Until now, the company had only provided a limited experience with the Photoshop Express app for mobile devices.

The new Photoshop app also includes its own subscription plan, granting access to all editing tools and premium stock assets across the app, along with an enhanced web version.

This app will literally require you to touch some grass to unlock undesirable apps

In 2023, the Office of the Surgeon General (OSG) released a report addressing social media and youth mental health, revealing that a staggering 95% of teenagers aged 13 to 17 reported using social media 'almost constantly.'

“Individuals with frequent and problematic social media usage can experience alterations in brain structure similar to those observed in people with substance use or gambling addictions,” the detailed report cites research findings.
