Peacock’s spinoff of The Office has recruited at least one cast member from the original series. According to Entertainment Weekly, Oscar Nuñez, who portrayed accountant Oscar Martinez, will be appearing in the spinoff. Nuñez is the first original cast member to join this new series, created by Office co-creator Greg Daniels and Nathan For You’s Michael Koman. The show will center around the team at a struggling Midwestern newspaper, filmed by the same documentary crew that documented the Dunder Mifflin staff for many years.

Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore are the first actors announced, taking on the show’s main roles. Later, Melvin Gregg, Ramona Young, and Chelsea Frei were confirmed as co-stars, with Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, and Tim Key also joining the ensemble.

Since this series exists in the same universe as The Office, it is likely that Nuñez will reprise his original role. The extent of his involvement remains uncertain, but his addition to the cast hints that other alumni from the original series might make appearances as well. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Steve Carell has already stated that his character, Michael Scott, will not be among the guest stars. “I will be watching but I will not be showing up. It’s just a new thing, and there’s really no reason for my character to appear in something like that,” Carell explained. “But I’m excited about it; it sounds like a great concept. I love the idea — I suppose it’s set in a family newspaper company, and I worked with Domhnall Gleeson, who is one of the leads. I did The Patient with him, and he’s an excellent actor and a super nice guy, so I think it’ll be great.”

The best Netflix original movies right now

February wasn’t particularly strong for original films on Netflix. The comedy Kinda Pregnant, starring Amy Schumer, was disappointing and not memorable. The romantic comedy La Dolce Villa isn’t a masterpiece either, but at least it has its own charm. The only other movie we can recommend this month is Demon City, a Japanese action film. Though the revenge thriller trope is familiar, the action choreography is entertaining, making it worth at least one viewing.

There weren’t many new offerings on Netflix in February. However, with the final season of Cobra Kai and the launch of Zero Day starring Robert De Niro, Netflix remained active. Zero Day has already established itself as one of the platform's most popular series, although it’s unlikely to return for a second season as it is largely self-contained.

Netflix is also enjoying success from the second season of The Night Agent and the popular Western series American Primeval, a solid way to kick off 2025. You can find these series and more of the best Netflix original shows below.
