Matthew Lillard is set to join the cast of season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again.

      Universal Pictures

The premiere of Daredevil: Born Again is just a few days away, and a new cast member has been announced for season 2. Matthew Lillard will be joining the latest Marvel Studios original series on Disney+, which is set to begin filming its second season next week.

Deadline reported on Lillard's entry into the MCU, but details about his character remain undisclosed. Lillard is known for portraying Shaggy Rogers in two live-action Scooby-Doo movies and reprised the role in several animated projects. He has also taken on significant villain roles, including Stu Macher in Scream and William Afton in Five Nights at Freddy’s. Even though his characters met their demise in both films, Lillard is set to return as Macher in Scream 7 and will reprise his role as Afton in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.

Initially planned as a loose continuation of the original Daredevil series on Netflix, Born Again was reshaped after the actors' and writers' strikes in 2023 to serve as a direct sequel to the previous series. Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, with Vincent D’Onofrio also back as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.

Fans can expect to see more familiar faces in Born Again. Deborah Ann Woll will reprise her role as Karen Page, alongside Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin “Dex Poindexter/Bullseye,” and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher. Daredevil: Born Again will debut with a two-episode premiere on Disney+ on Tuesday, March 4, and the first season will consist of a total of nine episodes.

Fans, both old and new, were thoroughly impressed, and they hope to see these seven elements in season 2.

3 questions we have after Secret Invasion episode 2

Episode 2 of Marvel Studios' Disney+ series, Secret Invasion, has been released, continuing to weave intricate mysteries. Following Maria Hill’s tragic death while trying to thwart the Skrull's bombing of Moscow, Nick Fury and his Skrull ally Talos are now faced with managing this shape-shifting threat and the ire of numerous world leaders. Here are the questions raised by this second episode:

      Is Gravik a Super Skrull?

The show has revealed that Gravik and his group of Skrulls are developing a device to enhance their powers. Additionally, G'iah discovers that Gravik possesses DNA samples from some of Marvel's most formidable beings. So far, they have samples from Groot, a Frost Beast from Jotunheim featured in Thor: The Dark World, and Thanos's son, Cull Obsidian, who lost an arm in the first act of Avengers: Infinity War.

Marvel casts Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Wonder Man for Disney+

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will reprise his role as DC Comics' villain Black Manta in the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. However, he will also have the opportunity to portray a superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Deadline, Abdul-Mateen has been cast as Simon Williams, known as Wonder Man, for his own upcoming Disney+ series.

Don't be misled by the name. Marvel's Wonder Man is not related to DC's Wonder Woman. Instead, Simon Williams was created by Stan Lee, along with artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby, as a one-off villain for the Avengers in 1964. In his debut story, Simon was a disgraced executive who received superpowers from the Masters of Evil in exchange for infiltrating and betraying the Avengers. However, he ultimately chose to ally with the Avengers and turned against the Masters, despite the cost to his life.
