Lenovo's impressive laptop doesn't quite surpass the MacBook Air.
If you're in the market for a 14-inch laptop, there are numerous excellent options available. Including the Apple MacBook Air 13, featuring a 13.6-inch display (which you definitely should), the competition is quite fierce. However, Apple isn't the sole manufacturer offering impressive laptops that blend portability with a larger screen size.
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i 14 Gen 10 debuts with a stunning design and is powered by Intel's latest Lunar Lake chipset. Comparing it to the MacBook Air is logical, but which laptop comes out on top?

Currently, there are only two configurations for the Yoga Slim 9i 14 Gen 10. At $1,760, it includes an Intel Core Ultra 7 256V chipset, 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a 4K+ OLED display (the sole option). For $1,835, you can upgrade to a faster Core Ultra 7 258V with 32GB of RAM. This latter configuration is the one being reviewed.
The MacBook Air 13 starts at $1,099 for the 8-core CPU/8-core GPU version of the M3 chipset, with a 512GB SSD and a 13.6-inch 2560 x 1664 IPS display (again, the only option). Apple has recently raised the base model's RAM to 16GB for the same price, making it more competitive with similar Windows laptops. Upgrading to the 8-core CPU/10-core GPU M3 with a 512GB SSD brings the price to $1,299, while the top model is priced at $2,099 for 24GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD.
Both laptops are high-end devices, but the MacBook Air 13 begins at a lower price point. However, fully upgrading the MacBook Air will cost more.
**Design**
The Yoga Slim 9i 14 Gen 10 is a visually stunning laptop, showcasing a consistent dark blue color scheme interrupted by a minorly brighter blue that may be a design oversight, along with a glass cover that lends it a lovely sheen. The rounded dark chrome edges both look and feel great, and the overall design stands out without being ostentatious. If you desire an attractive laptop, the Yoga Slim 9i fits the bill. The MacBook Air 13 also boasts an elegant look with its minimalist design that is consistent across Apple's MacBook series. Available in several appealing colors, it, too, is a visually appealing laptop.
Both devices are solidly constructed from aluminum, though the slightly flexible lid may concern some users. The Yoga Slim 9i's glass cover raises a bit more apprehension regarding its durability. Nonetheless, both laptops exhibit strong build quality.
The MacBook Air 13 is among the thinnest laptops currently available, measuring 0.44 inches, while the Yoga Slim 9i is just 0.57 inches thick. They have very similar weights, giving the MacBook Air a marginally denser feel in hand. The Yoga Slim 9i sports
