NYT Strands for today: clues, spangram, and solutions for Sunday, February 23.

Strands is a new daily puzzle from the New York Times. It offers a more challenging spin on the traditional word search, requiring sharp observation skills to solve. Similar to Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, Strands can be tough on certain days. It's perfectly fine to seek a bit of assistance sometimes. If you’re facing difficulties and need the answers for today’s Strands puzzle, refer to the solved puzzle provided below.

      How to play Strands

In each Strands puzzle, your objective is to locate the “theme words” concealed within the letter grid. You can manipulate letters by dragging or tapping to form words; double-tap the last letter to confirm. When you identify the correct word, the letters will be highlighted in blue and will become unselectable.

If you discover a non-theme word, it’s still beneficial! For every three non-theme words that consist of at least four letters, you'll earn a hint — one of the theme word’s letters will be revealed, and you’ll just need to unscramble it.

All letters on the grid are utilized to form the theme words without overlapping. Each letter is used exactly once.

Each puzzle features one “spangram," a unique theme word (or words) that encapsulates the puzzle’s theme and spans two opposite edges of the board. When the spangram is found, it will be highlighted in yellow.

The aim is to finish the puzzle swiftly while relying on minimal hints.

Today’s Wordle answer was altered due to Roe v. Wade

Some days, Wordle players receive varied answers based on the browser they use to access the game. Today happens to be one of those instances, but for a significantly different reason. The New York Times modified today's Wordle answer due to its unintended connection to the Supreme Court's upcoming ruling on Roe v. Wade.

The intended answer to Wordle 324 was "fetus." Wordle creator Josh Wardle had set that response for today over a year ago, prior to The New York Times acquiring the game during its peak popularity in January. Everdeen Mason, editorial director for New York Times Games, stated that a different answer was chosen due to its closeness to the Supreme Court's leaked draft opinion last week, which included a suggestion to overturn the 1973 landmark Roe v. Wade abortion decision, prompting widespread reactions across the nation.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut finally arrives on PC on March 30

Kojima Productions and 505 Games' Death Stranding Director's Cut is set to be released for PC on March 30, 2022. It will retail for $40 for new players, while those who already possess Death Stranding on PC can upgrade for a nominal fee.

Death Stranding Director's Cut is an improved version of acclaimed creator Hideo Kojima’s most avant-garde title to date. It follows Norman Reedus' character, Sam Porter Bridges, as he makes his way across America to restore connections among humanity. In our 2019 review, Digital Trends noted that "it won't change the minds of those who believe Kojima should solely focus on film, but the game's insightful social factors highlight why he remains a crucial figure in the gaming industry."

Hideo Kojima fuels fresh Death Stranding speculation with recent tweets

Renowned video game designer Hideo Kojima appears to have something in store that may relate to the Death Stranding universe.
