Google Chrome's Incognito mode and InPrivate browsing have become even more private, as they no longer store copied text and media to the clipboard, as per Windows Latest. This update affects users on Windows 11 and 10 and was implemented in 2024. However, both Microsoft and Google have not provided any official documentation regarding this change.

Although this update is not new, it is peculiar that neither tech company considered it worth mentioning. Previously, the default setting allowed saved text or images to sync with the Cloud Clipboard on Windows. Accessing synced content was straightforward by pressing the Windows and V keys, which poses a security risk when using incognito mode.

This update enhances the privacy of Chrome Incognito, ensuring that activities within it remain confidential. On March 25, 2024, Microsoft released a code update that stops copied content from being saved to clipboard history or synced to the cloud when users are in Incognito Mode. Additionally, Microsoft acknowledged that Windows has distinct clipboard formats designed to prevent sensitive data from syncing, although other platforms like Android do not operate in the same manner.

The Windows clipboard formats that prevent copied content from being stored in history include:

      - ExcludeClipboardContentFromMonitorProcessing → Prevents saving to history & cloud

      - CanIncludeInClipboardHistory=0 → Prevents saving in history

      - CanUploadToCloudClipboard=0 → Prevents cloud sync

The changes to Chrome Incognito also extend to macOS and iOS, though the execution varies slightly. On macOS, the system clears the clipboard after copying to prevent syncing on iPhones and Macs. Interestingly, Google has not officially commented on this matter, raising questions about whether this change is a response to the class-action lawsuit that cost the company $5 billion.

MSI’s Claw 8 AI+ is more than a simple update.

MSI recently introduced two new gaming handhelds, the MSI Claw 8 AI+ and the Claw 7 AI+. These devices are a follow-up to the original MSI Claw, which did not gain much attention, and are being referred to as a "refresh" — though they appear to be more than that. In addition to updated specifications, the consoles feature several design modifications. The downside? The flagship model is considerably heavier.

Our first look at the new Claw was at this year's Computex, but that was prior to fully knowing the specifications. Now, MSI has disclosed nearly all specifications for the two handhelds.

The Windows 11 24H2 update is causing further issues.

The Windows 11 24H2 update has been presenting users with significant difficulties, including bugs with visual layouts and problems with certain wallpaper applications. Now, as confirmed by Microsoft in a support document, some users without administrative privileges cannot change the time zone in the Date & Time settings, among various other issues associated with this critical Windows 11 update.

A post in the Feedback Hub also reports a time discrepancy after exiting Sleep Mode, particularly after about one in five overnight sleep cycles. There are also reports of inaccurate time syncing following daylight saving time adjustments. In other words, the update does not disrupt the time zone itself but complicates the process of modifying or toggling it.
