JanusPro7B image generator performs better than OpenAI and Stability AI

The models, available for download from the Hugging Face platform, belong to a new family called JanusPro. They range in size from 1 billion to 7 billion parameters, with models with more parameters showing high performance. JanusPro is distributed under an MIT license, which allows the model to be used commercially without restriction. The company describes JanusPro as a "novel autoregressive framework" capable of both analyzing and creating new images. The largest model in the family, JanusPro7B, outperforms DALLE 3, as well as solutions such as PixArtalpha, Emu3Gen and Stability AI's Stable Diffusion XL, in two evaluation tests, GenEval and DPGBench. While most JanusPro models can only analyze images up to 384 x 384 resolution, their performance is impressive given their compact size. This makes JanusPro a strong candidate for being one of the most versatile multimodal models. DeepSeek emphasizes that the simplicity, high flexibility and efficiency of the new model matches or exceeds the performance of specialized models. JanusPro7B is an enhanced version of the previous Janus model.
