Facebook launches Seller app for Marketplace and is experimenting with a TikTok-like video feed.
As Marketplace celebrates its tenth anniversary, Facebook is recognizing the occasion with the launch of a seller app and a testing phase for a video-focused redesign.
Meta is commemorating the tenth anniversary of Facebook Marketplace by revamping the buying, selling, and browsing experience. They have introduced a specialized app called Seller aimed at their most active Marketplace users.
In conjunction with this, they have announced plans to experiment with a video-centric home screen resembling TikTok. These changes suggest a direction for Facebook's massive user base, incorporating AI significantly in the process.
What can you do with the new Seller app?

For those who frequently list items on Marketplace, the Seller app simplifies the process. Users can upload a few images, while Meta AI takes care of generating the title, description, and price suggestions in just seconds. Additionally, bulk selling becomes more manageable as the app enables posting multiple items simultaneously rather than one at a time.
A dashboard helps monitor tasks that require attention, from responding to buyers to managing items ready for shipping and listings that may need a price adjustment. All buyer communications are organized in a single inbox, categorized by listing, ensuring nothing is overlooked.
Seller is currently available for US users aged 18 and older, automatically importing your existing listings, messages, and sales history when you log in. While selling through the regular Facebook app is still an option, Seller provides a dedicated space tailored for frequent sellers to manage their business.
Facebook is getting a TikTok-style video feed
Later this year, Facebook plans to test a new experience that immerses some users directly into a full-screen video display upon opening the app. This test will initially take place in video-centric international markets, with a potential rollout in the US the following year. However, the Classic Feed will still be available just a tap away in a second tab, and those who prefer the traditional experience can choose to opt out.

Starting Monday, Facebook Verified will be introduced as a complimentary badge to confirm that a genuine, selfie-verified person is behind a profile, providing buyers and daters greater assurance regarding who they are interacting with.
Additionally, Forum, a Facebook Groups app undergoing testing since May, will feature a Group Ask tool and an Admin AI function to assist with community management. Creators will also benefit from a revamped Creator Studio designed to guide them on how to effectively grow their audience.
Facebook is getting a free verified badge to help spot real people
There's no subscription required, just a quick selfie to confirm you're not a bot. As AI has made it exceptionally simple to impersonate real individuals online, Facebook is launching a new badge called Facebook Verified, and the best part is that it won’t cost you anything.
