      How does the new Siri mode in the camera work?

      Siri now provides advanced visual intelligence features directly within the camera app through a new Siri mode. You can access this by swiping on the mode bar, which allows you to switch between photo, video, and other settings.

      After switching to Siri mode, simply point your phone at an object, press the shutter button, and Siri will perceive what you see and provide a useful response. If you're interested in more details, you can pull down to access extensive information and ask follow-up questions.

      The greatest advantage for privacy enthusiasts like myself is that these features operate on Apple Foundation models utilizing private cloud computing, ensuring your data remains secure. Your images and conversations are also stored in the new Siri app for you to access at any time.

      What can you do with it?

      Siri mode suggests relevant actions based on what is in front of you at any given moment. For example, if you point your iPhone at a dish of food, it will offer nutritional insights. If you're out dining with friends, simply point your camera at the bill, select your orders, and split the total using Apple Cash right there, eliminating any awkward calculations at the table.

      When combined with AI features in the Photos app that allow you to reframe images, remove unwanted elements, and extend photos, the new Siri camera enhancement appears quite exciting.

      This is a minor adjustment in how you operate your camera, but I believe it will significantly increase how frequently you use it. I can't wait to give it a try.
