NotebookLM now has the capability to write code, create spreadsheets, and search for sources on your behalf.

The latest update introduces Gemini 3.5, Antigravity-driven code execution, and the capability to develop source libraries from basic concepts.

Google has enhanced NotebookLM with a new reasoning engine, more file output options, and a more adaptable research workflow, equipping the AI notebook tool with an expanded array of functionalities for managing complex projects.

Improved reasoning, powered by Gemini 3.5

This upgrade transitions NotebookLM to Gemini 3.5 and Antigravity, Google's coding model, resulting in more precise answers and increased transparency regarding how the tool formulates its conclusions.

Interested in a closer look at today's launch? Here is what’s new and exciting 🧵: First on the list is a more thoughtful chat experience. Thanks to Gemini 3.5 and @Antigravity, you can now gain better insights into the AI's reasoning process.       According to Google, each notebook now operates on a dedicated cloud computer capable of writing and executing code, supported by over 100 curated software skills. Google’s benchmarks indicate that the new system achieves a win rate of over 65% compared to the previous version across five key evaluation categories, particularly excelling in large document analysis (69.9%) and web research (78.2%).

More output formats, and easier starting points

NotebookLM now offers a wider variety of downloadable file formats directly from the studio panel, including PDFs, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, CSVs, data visualizations, and images. Users can submit detailed formatting guidelines before generation and request modifications afterward.

On the research front, NotebookLM no longer requires a fully formed source library to begin. Users can start a notebook with a basic idea or question, and the tool will utilize Google Search to find relevant sources and assist in compiling the repository. Importantly, users maintain complete control over which sources are included, and all sources remain clearly credited throughout the notebook.

These updates are currently available for Google AI Ultra subscribers and Workspace business customers on AI Ultra Access and AI Expanded Access plans, with plans for broader availability in the future.

reMarkable Paper Pure review: An excellent digital slate that I admire but also find frustrating

If you enjoy writing or want to get back into it, this slate is unparalleled. However, if you are looking for digital conveniences, there are superior alternatives.

      Quick Review

I embraced the reMarkable vision years ago and have tried multiple slates, but the Paper Pure is the model I consistently return to. Priced at $399, it’s the entry-level E Ink tablet from the brand that finally replaces the aging reMarkable 2 by eliminating almost everything you might expect from a 2026 gadget.

A humanoid robot scaled a volcano, aided by human hands

A modified Unitree G1 reached the summit of Chimborazo, but needed human assistance for the most challenging sections.

A humanoid robot named Pemba has successfully ascended Ecuador’s Chimborazo volcano, which rises to 20,341 feet, providing a colder backdrop for the "robots are coming" narrative. The climb is remarkable, but the details are equally noteworthy. Pemba, a modified Unitree G1, completed the 16-hour ascent with help from the supporting team. The robot navigated easier segments autonomously while humans assisted during more difficult, technical sections.

I visited BenQ’s lighting lab, and now my desk setup seems inadequate

I used to think monitor light bars were mere desk decor, but BenQ changed my perspective.

I have always considered desk lighting an afterthought. Until recently, I was largely unaware of the significant impact that an appropriate lighting setup can have. If the room was too dim, I turned on a lamp. Working in low light? I just reduced the screen brightness. And whenever my eyes became tired after hours of writing, gaming, or editing, I would easily blame the screen I was looking at. Then I visited BenQ's lighting lab in Taiwan (during Computex 2026), and my entire desk arrangement began to appear quite lazy. Interestingly, I never regarded monitor light bars as essential equipment. You may have seen those sleek desktop setups online—where there’s no large lamp base, just a simple light bar above the monitor creating a premium glow. It conveys a very specific image of a workstation utilized by some creative professionals.
