Google AI Plus now costs $4.99 per month and offers double the storage.

The entry-level Google AI subscription now features 400GB of cloud storage, which is twice the amount offered at its initial launch.

Google has reduced the price of its AI Plus subscription from $7.99 to $4.99 per month and has also doubled the included storage, making this plan more competitive against similar offerings from other companies.

What’s new with the updated plan

The revised AI Plus plan now provides 400GB of cloud storage, increasing from the previous 200GB subscribers have had since the launch. The price change to $4.99 per month, or the local equivalent, will take effect in the next billing cycle rather than immediately. The increase in storage will be implemented over the coming days.

The main benefits of the plan remain the same. Subscribers enjoy double the usage limits in the Gemini app compared to the free version, a 128,000-token context window, and access to features such as Daily Brief, Omni Flash video generation, and scheduled interactions. AI Plus members also receive increased limits in NotebookLM, Proofread, and AI Inbox in Gmail, as well as broader access in Google Flow, AI Studio, and Antigravity.

Additionally, Google is officially rebranding its $9.99 per month 2TB storage tier as Google AI Plus, integrating it under the same product line.

How this fits into Google’s AI subscription offerings

In recent months, Google has been actively revamping its AI subscription options. In April, the company enhanced AI Pro with 5TB of storage at no additional charge. During I/O last month, AI Ultra introduced a new $100 per month entry point, while the highest tier's price decreased from $250 to $200 per month.

The reduction in AI Plus pricing positions this entry-level plan more competitively against rivals like OpenAI’s $8 per month ad-supported ChatGPT Go plan. Priced at $4.99, Google’s offering is now the most affordable major AI subscription from a leading provider.
