PlayStation Plus subscribers can expect a month focused on co-op games in June following the increase in prices.
Sony's June PlayStation Plus lineup features Grounded, Darktide, and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2
Sony's June PlayStation Plus selection arrives at an inconvenient time, just weeks after the company announced a price hike for new one-month and three-month subscribers in certain regions, effective May 20. The service is now adding three multiplayer-centric titles: Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.
All three games will be accessible to PlayStation Plus members from June 2 until July 6. Additionally, EA Sports FC 26 will continue to be available as a Monthly Game until June 16.
Grounded introduces backyard survival to PS Plus
The standout title this month is Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, available for both PS5 and PS4 through the service. Obsidian's survival game miniaturizes players to the size of insects and places them in a backyard filled with giant threats.
Players can choose to explore solo or join forces with up to three friends online. The main gameplay revolves around gathering resources, crafting weapons and armor, constructing shelter, and surviving encounters with the creatures that inhabit the garden. There is also a narrative element behind the shrinking, providing a motivation for players to continue beyond mere survival.
Darktide offers a grim co-op experience
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide provides PS5 players with a tougher co-op shooter experience. Instead of portraying players as iconic heroes, it casts them as expendable convicts battling a Chaos-infested rebellion within the hive city of Tertium in the name of the Emperor.
This premise lends Darktide a distinctly different atmosphere compared to the other offerings. It is dark, gritty, and focuses on the struggle to survive one perilous mission at a time while the Imperium views you as just another casualty. The game combines close-quarters melee combat with lasguns, class abilities, and the heavy ambiance of Warhammer 40K.
For Warhammer enthusiasts, it presents a decaying gothic-industrial hive city filled with religious zealotry, chainblades, and an ever-present sense of doom. This is the most intense selection of the month and promises to be exhilarating for anyone eager to battle heretics alongside friends in the Emperor of Mankind's name.
Nickelodeon concludes the month
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 serves as the lighter entry in terms of setting, but its fast-paced platform action can quickly heat up. It features Nickelodeon characters like SpongeBob SquarePants, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Squidward, and Jimmy Neutron engaging in chaotic, Super Smash Bros.-style brawls. The game also provides a single-player campaign option where players aim to thwart Vlad Plasmius from dominating the Nickelodeon universe. It will be available for both PS4 and PS5 players.
