Apple's foldable iPhone is on its way... just not as soon as you might have expected.
Apple's foldable iPhone is quietly being pushed back to December, taking inspiration from the iPhone X strategy — and also reviving the "Plus" name.
Apple fans eager to get their hands on a foldable iPhone this fall may have to wait a bit longer. The iPhone Fold, which was initially anticipated to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max during Apple's September event, may not ship alongside these models.
As per Apple analyst Tim Long, the iPhone Fold is expected to start shipping in December instead of September. This update contradicts earlier reports of a September release (via MacRumors).
So, what can we expect from Apple in September 2026? It seems plausible that Apple could still preview the iPhone Fold during the iPhone 18 Pro launch, perhaps as a teaser or brief showcase of the technology involved, while making it clear that actual shipments will commence a few months later.
The delay in the iPhone Fold’s shipment might be straightforward. By launching the iPhone 18 Pro in September and the iPhone Fold in December, the Pro series benefits from two months of exclusive focus from customers.
Many buyers in India synchronize their upgrade cycles with Apple’s September launches, and this staggered approach could help safeguard the early sales of the iPhone 18 Pro. Meanwhile, the iPhone Fold would enjoy an additional two months of anticipation, with rumors and leaks keeping potential buyers engaged.
Historically, Apple has followed this approach with the iPhone X, which became available to purchase about ten days after the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus launched.
Now, while the timeframe between the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone Fold is not exactly the same, the iPhone Fold will be Apple’s priciest model to date. The company might want to ensure a launch period free from competing sales threats, while also capitalizing on the holiday shopping season.
In addition to the iPhone Fold’s anticipated launch, the analyst also mentioned some details about Apple’s upcoming roadmap. The standard iPhone 18 could be introduced in March 2027, potentially alongside an iPhone 18e. Additionally, these phones might come with either an iPhone 18 Plus or an iPhone Air 2.
The status of the iPhone 18 Plus is uncertain given the lack of recent leaks or discussions about it since Apple discontinued it with the iPhone 17 lineup. On the other hand, the Air 2 could indeed be included in Apple’s March 2027 product offerings.

You can utilize the Galaxy S26 as a webcam, and it’s genuinely beneficial.
Samsung is finally catching up with a feature that Pixel users have already experienced. Although the Galaxy S26 series has many camera enhancements, there's one that many might have overlooked initially. As noted by Android Authority, the Galaxy S26 series now supports a native USB webcam mode, which allows users to connect their phone to a computer and use it as a webcam.
This feature isn’t entirely new to Android, as Google first introduced it with Android 14 QPR1 on Pixel devices, and Samsung is now bringing it to its flagship series.
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy foldables may see an improvement in charging speeds.
Recent leaks suggest there might be updates to charging speeds in the next generation of foldable devices, though not all of them may align with fans’ expectations. Recent certification posts discovered on SammyGuru show upcoming models like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and a new “Wide Fold” variant appearing in China’s 3C database, indicating possible improvements in charging capabilities. These listings usually disclose wired charging specifications ahead of their release, offering an early look at what to expect. However, the “upgrade” may not be as substantial as it appears.
The iPhone 18 Pro might enhance its camera capabilities with features influenced by Halide.
Reports indicate that Apple is considering a significant upgrade for the iPhone camera, focusing not just on hardware. As reported by The Information, Apple looked into acquiring Lux Optics, the firm behind the popular Halide camera app, to enhance the camera experience of the iPhone 18 Pro. Discussions reportedly occurred in 2025 but did not culminate in an agreement. Nonetheless, the message is clear: Apple aims for its default Camera app to reach par with professional-grade tools, especially as its hardware enhancements continue.
