Beatbot’s Sora 70 sets a new standard for midrange robotic pool cleaners.

      The Chinese company Beatbot, known for its robotic pool cleaners, has introduced the Sora 70, the inaugural model in its new Sora series. Set to launch in spring 2026, this model incorporates elements from its more costly counterparts (like the AquaSense 2 Ultra), positioning it as a high-performance pool cleaner. Nonetheless, it is designed to cater to the midrange market with a focus on value.

      Central to the device is the JetPulse Water Surface Cleaning dual-flow jet system, which effectively gathers floating debris such as insects, pollen, twigs, or larger dust particles towards the suction inlet before they sink and accumulate at the bottom of the pool.

      Internally, Beatbot’s HydroBalance structure combines a centrally located pump with a robust motor that circulates 6,800 gallons per hour, powerful enough to handle fine sand, leaves, and persistent algae.

      In terms of coverage, the Sora 70 is capable of cleaning floors, walls, waterlines, and shallow edges (down to eight inches), eliminating any blind spots left by manual cleaners. It is equipped with a six-liter debris bin that can accommodate up to 800 leaves, which the company claims is double the capacity of traditional cleaners.

      The Sora 70 robotic pool cleaner is powered by a 10,000 mAh battery, providing up to 5 hours of floor cleaning and up to 7 hours of surface skimming. Beatbot asserts that the device can clean a pool up to 3,230 square feet in a single cycle.

      Once the cleaning is complete, the pool cleaner ascends to the surface, drains any excess water, and stays afloat for easy retrieval, thanks to its Smart Surface Parking feature, an innovative floating retrieval system (similar to a real submarine). This aspect is particularly one of the product's standout features.

      A glance at the midrange pool-cleaning robots currently on the market reveals that most tend to compromise on suction, coverage, or battery life.

      In contrast, the Sora 70 offers all the premium features, including surface skimming, shallow-water cleaning, and self-floating retrieval, at a comparatively lower price point (yet to be announced).

      For those with a medium or large pool (up to 3,230 square feet), the Sora 70 could save time and effort associated with manual cleaning, as well as the ongoing expense of hiring local pool cleaners. It promises fewer missed spots, less manual skimming, and eliminates the hassle of extracting a waterlogged robot from the pool.
